SHORT ANSWER

Lazada and Miravia take IP complaints through the Alibaba International IP Protection Platform at ipp.aidcgroup.net, the same system as AliExpress. You verify your identity and a registered right, select Lazada or Miravia and submit the listing URLs with evidence. The right must be registered where the listing is offered: the Lazada country, or the EU or Spain.

Lazada, Alibaba's marketplace in Southeast Asia, and Miravia, its marketplace in Spain, both take intellectual property complaints through the Alibaba International IP Protection Platform (IPP) at ipp.aidcgroup.net. If you already report on AliExpress, you use the same account and the same verified rights: you only select a different platform when you submit. What changes is the territory. A complaint on Lazada relies on a right registered in the Lazada country concerned, and a complaint on Miravia on a right registered in the EU or Spain.

This guide covers what each marketplace treats as infringement, the evidence and registrations you need, the steps, how counter-notices work and the limits of the process. For the other Alibaba marketplaces, see our guide to reporting counterfeits on Alibaba and AliExpress.

Which marketplaces the international IPP covers

The IPP's own pages list four marketplaces: AliExpress, Alibaba.com, Lazada and Miravia. Lazada operates in six countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Miravia serves Spain.

Lazada Miravia
Where to report Alibaba International IPP Alibaba International IPP, or the online form linked from Miravia's IP policy
Where the right must be registered The country where the listing is found, in the relevant class The EU or the relevant member state
Rights accepted Trademarks, copyright, invention patents, design patents and registered designs Trademarks, copyright, patents, utility models and designs
Counter-notice escalation Email protect_ip@alibaba-inc.com with more evidence Not specified on Miravia's policy page

Marketplaces outside that list, even if connected to Alibaba Group, have their own reporting channels. Check the marketplace's own IP page before assuming the IPP applies.

What Lazada and Miravia consider an infringement

Lazada's 2024 guide for rights holders lists the complaint reasons you choose from, and the evidence each needs.

Reason What it covers Supporting information Lazada asks for
Counterfeit (trademark) A product bearing words or logos identical or similar to your trademark without authorization Your IPR documents, a test purchase or purchase review comparison, or proof that you never made or repackaged the product
Content infringement (trademark) Your mark used in the title, description or images of a product that does not carry it, or overused in the images Your IPR documents
Content infringement (copyright) Your photos or text used in a listing without permission, even for genuine products A copyright claim statement or proof of ownership, and a side-by-side comparison
Piracy or unlawful reproduction (copyright) Unauthorized copies of software, film, music or books, or your artwork printed on products Proof of ownership, or a copyright claim statement listing the works
Invention patent A product made with your patented invention or process The patent certificate and an infringement comparison document
Design patent or registered design A product with the same overall look as your protected design The registration certificate and a design comparison form

Miravia's policy describes the same families of rights and adds two points. Counterfeits are strictly prohibited, and sellers of counterfeit goods may be permanently suspended. Utility models can be enforced as a type of patent when supported by a search report and a patentability study.

Both refuse complaints based on breach of contract, fair use of your brand (for example to indicate compatibility) and rights registered only in other jurisdictions.

What evidence you need

  • Identity. For registrants outside mainland China, a scan or photo of a driver's license or passport for an individual, or a business license for a company.
  • The local registration. A certificate from the relevant office: for Lazada, the national office of the country concerned; for Miravia, the EUIPO or the Spanish office. Add renewal or assignment documents if the right changed hands or was renewed.
  • Authorization, if you are an agent. A power of attorney or similar document from the rights holder.
  • The listing URLs. The exact product links on the Lazada country site or on Miravia.
  • Proof of infringement. For counterfeits, a comparison with your genuine product or a test purchase. For photo misuse, the original image and where it appears.

Our IPP evidence checklist covers formats and templates.

The official reporting procedure

Rights holders or their authorized agents register an IPP account, verify their identity, then verify each right separately under My IPR. The status of each right shows as Under authentication, Authentication failed, Authenticated or Withdraw. If a right fails, the Edit option shows why and lets you upload the missing document. Once your identity and at least one right are verified, the Submit a complaint function unlocks.

Miravia's policy page also points rights holders to an online form. The IPP's online form is intended for occasional reports of up to 50 listings per submission.

How to report on Lazada or Miravia, step by step

  1. Check the territory. Confirm your right is registered in the Lazada country, or in the EU or Spain for Miravia.
  2. Set up your IPP account. Register at ipp.aidcgroup.net with a shared company email address, which becomes the permanent login.
  3. Verify your identity and contact details. Fill in the contact block shown to sellers and the one kept for Alibaba only.
  4. Submit each right for verification. Upload the certificate and click Submit for verification.
  5. Start the complaint. Click Submit a complaint and select Lazada or Miravia.
  6. Pick the right and the reason. Choose the IPR type, then the verified right, then the reason from the list.
  7. Explain and attach. Use the Supplemental infringement reason field to describe the infringement, and upload a comparison document if you have one.
  8. Paste and verify the URLs. Add the listings in the Infringing Listings field, click Verify listings, then Submit.
  9. Keep the case number. Lazada's guide says any follow-up requires it.

Expected review time

The IPP estimates identity and rights verification at about three working days and complaint review at generally three to five working days. Neither Lazada nor Miravia publishes a separate fixed delay on the pages we reviewed. A seller's counter-notice adds time.

Counter-notices and withdrawals

When a seller disputes your complaint, you receive an email at your registration address, and the case record shows an entry that the seller has responded. Open Check complaint details, then View additional details to see the seller's explanation and documents. If you accept them, click Withdraw complaint: the listing is reinstated. If the platform accepts the counter-notice and you disagree, Lazada's guide says to email protect_ip@alibaba-inc.com with additional evidence. Our guide to counter-notices on Alibaba's platforms explains how to prepare a rebuttal.

Common reasons complaints are rejected

  • The right is registered in the wrong place. A US mark on Lazada Thailand, or a Chinese mark on Miravia.
  • The wrong class. The trademark does not cover the kind of product being sold.
  • The wrong reason. A photo copied onto a listing of genuine goods is a copyright case, not a counterfeit.
  • No comparison. For a counterfeit, show what differs from your product. For a design, show the matching overall impression.

The limits of the manual process

Each Lazada country is a separate site, and each needs its own registration to support a complaint. Copies often appear on several Lazada sites, on AliExpress and on other marketplaces at the same time. The IPP does not search for them: it acts on the links you provide.

How Valigard can help before you report

Valigard searches marketplaces worldwide, including Lazada and AliExpress, with your official product photos, so it finds listings that reuse them even when your brand name is missing. You can search worldwide or choose up to 10 countries, at $0.30 per country. For each listing you mark as likely counterfeit, it keeps the URL, the country, a saved and timestamped copy of the page, the price and the seller's details.

Valigard does not file complaints: you submit them on the IPP, then log the status and case number. It does not determine with legal certainty that a product is counterfeit and cannot guarantee removal.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I report IP infringement on Lazada?

On the Alibaba International IP Protection Platform at ipp.aidcgroup.net. Lazada's 2024 guide for rights holders describes the same account, verification and complaint steps as for AliExpress, with Lazada selected as the platform when you submit a complaint. The complaint needs a verified right and the listing URLs.

Does my trademark need to be registered in Southeast Asia to report on Lazada?

Yes, in practice. Lazada's guide says a counterfeit complaint relies on a trademark registered in the country where the listing is found, and in the class that covers the product. Lazada operates in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, and each registration is national.

Can I report Miravia listings with a US trademark?

No. Miravia's IP policy says a registered right used for a complaint must be registered in the EU or in the relevant member state where Miravia operates, and that it will not act on rights limited to other jurisdictions. An EU trade mark or a Spanish registration is the usual basis.

Does the Alibaba IPP also cover Daraz or Trendyol?

The Alibaba International IPP pages we reviewed list four marketplaces: AliExpress, Alibaba.com, Lazada and Miravia. Other marketplaces are not on that list, so check each marketplace's own intellectual property page before you file.

What if Lazada reinstates a listing after a seller's counter-notice?

Lazada's guide says that if a counter-notice is accepted and you disagree after reviewing the seller's documents, you can email protect_ip@alibaba-inc.com with further evidence. Accepting a counter-notice yourself, by withdrawing the complaint, reinstates the listing.
